ryan + julie {white rock engagement photography}

My last memory of Julie is from about fourteen years ago (do you know how weird it feels to write that?). The two of us were wearing the same T-shirt; not two of the same shirts...no, no...we were two people in one shirt. Ah, camp twin day memories! Other than a few facebook glimpses since, this was the first time I have seen her.
And it was so lovely; not just to catch up, but to see her so happy and in love. Ryan is a catch. Yep, I've known the boy for all of two hours, but both Steve and I were impressed with this generous and sweet couple. They even offered us a place to stay if we were ever in town!
I typically don't do multiple locations for an engagement session, but because Julie is an old friend, I was happy to hit up both Campbell Valley park and White Rock beach. They chose two totally different looks for each locale, and Julie invested some time and thought into a few details + props.
Ryan + Julie ~ I hope these pictures make you as happy as they make me. It was so awesome to spend this time with you and we are both excited to photograph your wedding next April!

tim + sarah {white rock wedding photography}

Their engagement session was one of my most unique photography experiences to date. High in the sky, on Grouse Mountain, with snow falling the whole time,  I got to know one of the sweetest couples I've ever had the privilege of working with. As the speeches at their reception testified to, Sarah and Tim are one of those "made for each other, head over heels," kind of couples. It was so lovely to spend their wedding day with them.

The day began at Sarah's family home. We were so warmly greeted and taken in by this amazing family (Sarah's mom even packed Steve and myself a "goody bag" of muffins before we headed off to do portraits...Thanks again, Trina!) The gals laughed, listened to music (which made them laugh even more) and munched on yummy snacks as they transformed themselves into the beauties you will see in this post.

{I must share that Sarah's bouquet was made by the same woman that made her mom's bouquet on her wedding day!}

{it was then off to White Rock Beach...it was a gorgeous day to be by the sea}

{on the way to the reception, Steve + I spotted this gorgeous field with gorgeous light...after some serious horn-honking and U-turns we stopped for a few quick portraits...made.my.day.}

{and the reception...I loved listening to the speeches and just feeling the love in that room}
