bryce, krista + jacob {family}

The lovely momma of this little boy is a longtime friend of mine. We go way back to our teenage days, (ummm...since when was that way back???) when we met and worked together at Camp Qwanoes on Vancouver Island. We did lose touch for a few years, but started our friendship up easily again through Facebook (what would we do without it?). She is, and will remain, a true friend to me.

This little family resides in Stony Plain, AB these days; so I was totally thrilled when Krista messaged me last month about their upcoming visit to BC and the possibility of a photo shoot! Not only did I get a chance to catch up and see an old friend, I also got to take some photos of her sweet, little family.

Jacob just turned one a week prior to our session, and was in the process of cutting three teeth (cringe), but he was a trooper, and he's stinkin' adorable to boot!

Krista - it was so good to see you again and meet the men in your life! You are beautiful, my friend...hope you enjoy your photos :)

isla {newborn}

This session was a very sweet one.  Baby Isla (15 days old in the photos) joined her mom, dad, big sister Portia and big brother Dov at the end of August. The boys weren't around for this session, so it was just us girls...flowers, tutus and feather boas!

 I have a little sister 7.5 years younger than me, so it was quite nostalgic watching the relationship between big sister Portia (5) and baby Isla. Portia quite obviously adores her little sister; she cooed reassuringly to Isla when she cried and offered all kinds of kisses without any prompting.

Ami - your girls are just adorable! Thanks for having me come and capture some of these sweet moments...hopefully next time the boys can join us!

reanne {portraits}

This lovely young woman, Reanne, is a member of the graduating class of 2010. We attempted to coordinate our busy schedules to do this session in the summer, but it just didn't quite happen. So, I was so glad that we finally got a chance to run around Reanne's home town of Mission, BC, and get some grad portraits done - we even got some of her in her dress!

I met Reanne back when she was just a wee gal, and she has grown into such a gentle, sweet, and beautiful woman! Reanne - It was so fun spending some time with you and taking these photos. Blessings to you as you begin this new chapter in your life...you'll be amazing!

mike + anna-marie + family

I knew this session was going to be awesome within the first five minutes for four reasons. Besides the rain that preceded and followed our session, this family requested to do the photos barefoot AND they were happily willing to sit on the wet grass. Reason three - they brought along some instruments and requested photos of a mini jam session as part of their family shots....um, YES! Reason four - His name is Judah...he's 7 months old...and his eyes were candy for my camera :)

This session was a gift to Mike and Anna-Marie from their children in honor of their 25th anniversary...and let me tell you this couple still has it going on! Spark and chemistry - so fun to photograph. It's obvious these two love each other, but I almost wonder if baby Judah is now the apple of each ones eye (Grammy couldn't seem to keep her lips off him)....what a loved little man he is by his whole family!
