anna at six months {personal}

{here is my sweet babe a couple days before her half birthday}

{she has an auntie that is very big on half birthdays, so we dare not ignore such milestones}

{she loves music, her fingers, her toes, baths,  rice cereal, her sisters, her soother and her bottle}

{she weighed in at 14lbs 7 oz. at her six months shots}

{she sleeps through the night about 75% of the time...I still enjoy the occasional night time visit though}

{she started on solids last month and loves them}

{she has the fuzziest little baby mohwak...I love to rub my face in it}

{she has the best giggle...especially when her belly and neck are being kissed}

{she is such a smiley, beautiful source of joy in our home...and we all love her so much}

john + luana {vancouver wedding photography}

This was such a unique wedding experience to be a part of.  Though we only spent six hours with John + Luana,  those hours were so full of love, joy, beauty and celebration.  The ceremony and reception all took place at the beautiful Brix Restaurant in downtown Vancouver. I cannot say enough about this incredible venue. The setting is intimate and romantic, and the food and service...amazing! I'd gladly shoot a wedding there any day!
This is the first time we have photographed a wedding and met the couple for the first time that day! I love doing engagement sessions, partly because you get a bit of experience working with a couple and getting them comfortable with you and the camera. John + Luana did not need an engagement session. We talked and laugh from beginning to end, and their natural interactions left little need for prompting and posing. They are super models, quite obviously.

{ I met up with Luana at their apartment to capture the walk to the venue }

{ I also was privileged to witness a skype call with her mom + sister in Brazil...so sweet}

{ I loved that the girls chose to walk the two blocks to the restaurant }

{while I walked over with the ladies, Steve was at Brix with John and the guests }

{John was escorted down the aisle by his mom and the couples daughter, Sophia}

{as soon as the deal was sealed, champagne arrived on deck to toast the newlyweds}

{after some family portraits outside the restaurant, we walked through Yaletown to get some portraits of the couple}

{there is an amazing story behind this engagement ring - two diamonds John discovered himself, and the center stone from Luana's native Brazil}

{these next photos were taken at the Roundhouse...we had never been to Yaletown, and had a great time discovering}

{aren't they stunning? You'd never guess they were up the night before with a sick one year old}

{I may have had a little shoe envy going on at this point}

{after portraits, it was back to Brix for the reception...there were so many beautiful details!}

{first dance}

{what is a wedding reception without a superhero in attendance?}

John + Luana ~ it was an absolute treat spending the day with you, and photographing your wedding.
Thanks for welcoming us in, all the laughs and of course the random trivia ;) Cheers!
