mat + leigh-ann {lighthouse park engagement photography}

We ended the session just how it started, with warm hugs and excitement for what is to come. I am absolutely nuts for this couple. Leigh-Ann and I had our phone consult several months back and I hung up gushing to Steve about how sweet she was. She regularly leaves encouraging comments on my blog, and when we finally met in person a couple weeks ago she bounded up to us brimming with joy and welcome. And then there's her man. Mat matches Leigh-Ann quite perfectly - he is thoughtful, warm and funny and laid-back. Together, their chatter and affection is easy and genuine. One of the most magical moments of our session was spotting a beautiful owl, as we walked the trails. Matt was so excited about it, and made sure to tell others we ran into, to make sure they had a chance to glimpse it too.
The session took place at Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver and I was so excited that Steve was able to shoot this one with me. If you have never been to this spot, I highly recommend a visit. Mat + Leigh-Ann wanted a west coast feel to their session and the park was the perfect choice.
Mat + Leigh-Ann ~ When we left that night, I told you that our evening felt like a fun double date with friends. Thank you for being yourselves and introducing us to this awesome location. We are so excited that we get to share your wedding day with you in a few months. Until then, I hope you love your photos :)

jaclyn + utman {minter gardens engagement photography}

This session was such a treat for me. The weather was warm and light, the grounds at Minter Gardens were in full bloom, and my clients were... in a word... beautiful. Look at these two! After several back and forth emails with Jaclyn's mom, Maureen, (who is basically Jaclyn's wedding planner extraordinaire!) it was great to finally meet the couple who's wedding we will be documenting in Crescent Beach this August. Jaclyn loved the look of the unique water wall here at Minter and chose this venue for their session. I love meeting a couple for the first time and learning a bit about their love story... how they met, when did they know, and how did he (or she...though that hasn't happened yet) propose. I loved the beautiful way that Utman asked Jaclyn to be his wife at the skating rink in Robson Square... not to mention the gorgeous ring he chose!
Jaclyn + Utman ~ It was so great to finally meet the two of you and get to know you a bit. Looking forward to seeing you again in a few months for the big day :)
