Gary + Alysha chose to have their engagement session in their new backyard! Not literally, but pretty close. Having recently moved to Port Moody, this gorgeous couple thought it would be fitting to do these photos close to their new stomping grounds. I had never been to Rocky Point Park before this weekend, but I was lucky enough to hit it up twice...once for a wedding, and then again for this session. If you are from the area, this is definitely a fun and versatile spot for a session!

I had a great afternoon getting to know this couple a bit, and hearing all about plans for their upcoming wedding this summer at La Punta Norte in Summerland. We are so thrilled to be able to join them at such an incredible destination! See you soon....

I loved shooting this session! Cheryl and Clint are such a breath of fresh air. So much thought and planning was put into the details of this afternoon, yet they were so relaxed and easygoing throughout. And yes, the balloon and rowboat are awesome, but the cutest accessory award goes to the couple's wee daughter! This little miss was such a doll, and happily traipsed along with her Grandma and Auntie for the remainder of the shoot. The date of the session happened to land on May Day at the Burnaby Village Museum and Deer Lake Park. And, while the crowds made it a bit tricky at times, the overall carnival feel added a bit of magic to the whole thing!
