chris + taralee {family}

Chris + Taralee were the first family of a double session day at Derby Reach back in April. Being the momma of two preschoolers, I know it is a fine art to schedule, prepare and execute photos of small children. It involves, naps, outfit changes, full stomachs, bribes, "good times" of day, staying clean and basically crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.
I first met this lovely, young family back in January when I did newborn photos of their youngest daughter, Melina. I didn't get much of a chance to photograph big sister, Richa, that day...but I made up for the missed opportunity. This session was scheduled near Richa's 3rd birthday, so we got lots of shots of the little princess in honor of this milestone. Taralee's mom also joined us for the beginning of the session; I love multi-generational photos - such a keepsake!
Chris + Taralee ~ thanks for a lovely morning with your family. You are both so easy going and natural with your kids...it makes my job so easy :)

jeff + ashley {engagement}

Following an obviously successful first blind date, Jeff and Ashley made their "couple" status official at this gorgeous location: Lily Point in Pt. Roberts, Washington.  So, it only made sense that I met up with them there last month to capture some photos in honor of their engagement.  I may be a totally biased island girl, but this location was definitely a favorite: cliffs, ocean, beach, forest, grassy fields, a tire swing and some gorgeous pink blossoms to finish things off.
Jeff and Ashley ~ thank you for sharing such a beautiful spot with me! It was great getting to know you both and photographing this exciting time in your lives (hope it wasn't too painful, Jeff!). Can't wait to meet up again in September for the BIG DAY!
