sadie + mario {engagement}

Meet Sadie and Mario. I met up with these two last weekend for an engagement session at Campbell Valley Park...my first time there and I totally loved it. When Sadie and I started emailing a couple months back, Sadie knew she wanted her session to be at this particular park and also knew she wanted them done in the fall. With both our busy schedules (Sadie is a mom of 3 and a 4th year nursing student...how DOES she do it???), and the unreliable weather against us, I was thrilled we could actually get them done! We did experience a few sprinkles and some very gushy grass, but you could tell these two enjoyed just being together...away from work, school and the kids!

Sadie + Mario ~ It was great getting to know you a bit; always fun to talk "shop" with a fellow nurse. Looking forward to doing your family session in the spring and of course your wedding next summer!

marty + shannon {family}

Last weekend I met up with this energetic family of four at a fantastic new (to me) location - Redwood Park in Surrey. This park was originally owned by deaf, twin brothers that collected seedlings from around the world; they even built a two story tree house to live in! The treehouse was rebuilt several times due to fire, and the current one is still there today!
I thought this story was particularly neat because the family from this session has two year old twins!!
Abigail and Nolan are blond haired bundles of go-go-go. Their mom, Shannon, is also a photographer and I commented to her at one point during the session that she must have a LOT of pictures of the twin's backs...it was agreed. I certainly got my excercise in, and with the help of cookies, we managed to get some photos with all four of them in one place :)
Marty and Shannon ~ It was great to meet you and watch you interact with your gorgeous kiddos. Thanks so much for allowing me to spend some time with you and introducing me to such a great park. Your family is beautiful.

al + simone {family}

I met up with this family last weekend for an outdoor session. Simone contacted me several weeks back and we had been brainstorming locations and ideas via email during that time. I love it when my clients  "get involved" in their sessions; offering ideas on locations and even props.
Simone had requested getting some shots of her three beautiful kiddos with their instruments...you'll see those shots at the end of this post! (Props to the men of the family for dragging the drum kit from the basement to the upstairs patio!) Another special touch in this session is Al's Mustang....pretty sweet ride guys!
