jeff + ashley {engagement}

Following an obviously successful first blind date, Jeff and Ashley made their "couple" status official at this gorgeous location: Lily Point in Pt. Roberts, Washington.  So, it only made sense that I met up with them there last month to capture some photos in honor of their engagement.  I may be a totally biased island girl, but this location was definitely a favorite: cliffs, ocean, beach, forest, grassy fields, a tire swing and some gorgeous pink blossoms to finish things off.

Jeff and Ashley ~ thank you for sharing such a beautiful spot with me! It was great getting to know you both and photographing this exciting time in your lives (hope it wasn't too painful, Jeff!). Can't wait to meet up again in September for the BIG DAY!

Typically, when I book a session for head shots, I know what I'm getting into.  No running after wayward two year olds, no singing cartoon theme songs to get everyones attention. I don't have to worry much about posing assistance or providing goofy attempts at cracking the ice for couples nervous about showing affection on camera. Head shots are pretty straight forward and uneventful.

That said, I was excited for this session. Rob and I go way back...waaaaay back to my Camp Qwanoes days in the late 90's. He and his wife, Sarah, are expecting their second babe this summer, so we chatted pregnancy and it's perks, life with kiddos, aging and memories. Basically, we walked and laughed and took a few pictures in between.

And I have to give a shameless plug to my old pal. Rob is a new realtor with Homelife in Cloverdale. It was obvious through our conversation, that he is excited, knowledgeable and driven in his new venture. His website is on its way, and when I get the link, I will be sure to put it on my FB page. love is in the air...

It's spring time {finally} and love is in the air. Just a sneak peek from last weekend's engagement session with Jeff and Ashley...

cory + bethany {maternity}

I first met Bethany several years ago. She was interning at the church with my husband and I liked her  immediately. She was a single student at the time so our chats would often include the topic of "boys."

I also remember when she met her now husband, Cory. It was pretty obvious through her smile and excitement that he was the one...and still is. Though they joked about being an old married couple, their "spark" is still very much there! Further evidence would be the adorable baby bump that Bethany carries so beautifully these days. 

I met up with these two at Kanaka Creek Park a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved the location they chose. So pretty. We followed up at Bethany's family home in Maple Ridge....the woman is a super talented musician and some of my favorite shots are the ones taken in the piano room.

Bethany + Cory ~ it was so great to spend a few hours catching up with you guys...I love you two together! I am SO very excited to get word that your little bundle has arrived...until then, happy waiting.
