Back in December, a girlfriend of mine asked if I would be interested in donating a session for a silent auction. The George Jay Holiday Emporium and Silent Auction is an event held at a local school to help kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity, buy lovely Christmas gifts at low prices for their families. It is also a fundraiser for the school for field trips, clubs, sports and events throughout the year.
And let me just say, I got the got the great end of the deal in this situation. Karen, a teacher at the school was joined by her husband Imanuel, gorgeous daughter, Malana, and their pup, Leila. This family is adorable!!! Not only are they easy on the eyes, but they have such a fabulous chemistry that transmits so effortlessly onto the camera. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Beacon Hill Park and I am so thrilled with the images that came from our time together...enjoy!

.maya turns four.

Oh how I love this child. She is our precious middle girl and she is now four years old. I remember after Halle was born, wondering if I could love another, and the moment I lay eyes and ears on Maya, I knew the answer.  She started talking quite early and hasn't stopped since...my days are not even remotely quiet with her by my side. There are moments where she makes me crazy and moments that I cover her face with kisses while she giggles in delight. She recites the alphabet perfectly except for, "H-R-J-K..." I hope she never learns about "I." She loves games and likes to make up her own rules. Same thing with songs. She loves her sisters and friends. She is not afraid to speak up or talk back. She greets me each and every morning with a hug and a drawing. She is strong, and klutzy and loving and passionate. Our prayer is that we can harness her vivacious character and help her grow into a beautiful strong woman. Maya Kate...you are so loved! Each day of the last four years has been made better by you.

One month since my last post. Good grief. My absence is indicative of the mayhem of sickness that has inhabited our home since the new year. So far, 2013 is off to a sniffling, coughing, double ear infection, pink eye, influenza, fever, whining, exhaustion filled start. I am so sick of sick. It makes the anticipation of the coming months so much stronger. We are looking forward to days of health and sunshine and engagement shoots and weddings. Our first wedding is next month, and I must say I am absolutely itching for it.  It has been a lovely break, but it is time.
As we wait, here are a few snaps of my youngest patient. Most of the photos were taken between ear infections, but the collage below is a little picture of her misery. Aren't her little piggy tails adorable? Stay well!
